Information regarding Free School Meals

UNIVERSAL INFANT FREE SCHOOL MEALS

Children attending a state funded school in Key Stage 1 (Foundation Stage 2, Year 1 or Year 2) are entitled to ‘universal infant free school meals’ regardless of your income.  However, if you are eligible to claim for Benefits Free School Meals it is really important to do so.

BENEFITS FREE SCHOOL MEALS

If you are eligible for benefits free school meals it is important to still apply for this, even if your child receives universal free school meals.  For every pupil registered as being entitled to Benefit Free School Meals, schools receive additional funding (Pupil Premium) to help support your child’s education. This money is only paid to schools if you apply for free school meals and are confirmed to be entitled.  Once a claim has been confirmed to us, you could get help with paying for school visits, music tuition and shopping vouchers for meals during the school holidays. Please speak with our office staff for further information, all enquiries will be dealt with confidentially.
